Hi Folks,
I am using Get Physical as my studio management software. It does okay with the dance studio side of the business, but I have some challenges with the adult yoga/dance side of things. Here is my issue, we offer a class card for Yoga and Pilates, and run our specialty classes like Belly Dancing, Zumba on a series basis. I am moving to offering every class as a series at a better price but also continuing with the class card for those that need flexibility. The challenge comes when a client registers for a series but also has a class card. When we check that person in on the system for let say Belly Dancing it deducts a class from the class card. What I need is a system that can handle one client on a class card and also in series? Hope this makes sense? Any suggestions?

Dear Kat,
We have that issue occasionally, if someone has a flexible class card but then also signs up for a specialty class that has a set number of classes and that is it. We have two choices: Make the separate series of classes (say, a men's series) a workshop instead of a class, and sign that in separately, or just give the person the extra classes and add them into their original package, and trust that they will come to all of them and it will all work out. If you had the time, you could see if they missed a series, and put them in as a "no show" so it deducts from their card. In the end, I find that even if they end up missing one from the series and take a different class, it is to our benefit because they are all coming in. When I have time, if I see someone who took a series like the men's series, and missed some classes, I offer to give them back the classes to take anything they want. It is a good way to encourage them to try something else. I use MindBodyOnLine.
